SPS: Procurement Specialist II at Hanger in US-GA-Alpharetta

Job description

• The Procurement Specialist II is a Supply Management team player that will manage a supplier base to ensure procedures and inventory is in place so transactions flow smoothly to and from suppliers. Cross functional team work is essential to the position and requires good communication and understanding of internal processes for problem resolution. This position will be the lead within a supply base to procure material in the most cost effective manner including price.
• Office: Core hours 9-4

Responsibilities

• Work within our ERP software to procure inventory at the most cost effective manner and ensure we have inventory available for our customers.
• Serve as the primary contact for select group of suppliers. Establish strong working relationships with suppliers to promote quick problem resolution and contribute to process improvements that will drive efficiencies for the enterprise
• Maintain product records which includes product description changes, part number changes or additions and special setups such as content groups if necessary
• Assist customer base with inquiries pertaining to suppliers, product, price or availability issues. This includes any and all communication via email and phone calls
• Facilitate problem resolution of invoices. Work with suppliers and internal groups in order to determine root cause and departments and process to correct
• Participate in projects as requested by Manager to include inventory returns, swaps etc.
• Key team player and contributor to the enterprise objective to consolidate our supplier base. This includes timely and accurate tracking of processes with keen attention to detail to ensure process goes smoothly from all touch points including data base management and communication.

Requirements

• High School Education or G.E.D. is required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative role or equivalent with 1 of those years being in a supply chain field
• Able to handle confidential information as appropriate
• Attention to detail, and set/change priorities as needed
• Ability to develop and maintain critical working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to others
• Strong PC skills with effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially; MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
• Work effectively with minimum supervision
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to think creatively and work productively with others to provide the best solution to meet internal and external customer needs
• Ability to organize, multi-task & prioritize while keeping a focus on short and long term objectives
