Job description

• Take ownership of a high-impact accounting function with direct visibility to senior leadership.
• Lead financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, cost accounting, payroll, inventory, audits, and accounting operations.

• Location: On-site in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with flexibility to divide office time between Shawnee and Oklahoma City to help reduce commute time. This is not a fully remote position.
• Note: Candidates must have 4+ years of accounting experience supporting U.S. government contracts and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent. Manufacturing accounting, accounting leadership experience, and Deltek Costpoint experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, cash management, and payroll.
• Own monthly and annual financial statement preparation, review, and analysis.
• Develop, monitor, and analyze departmental budgets while partnering with operational leaders.
• Maintain accounting practices appropriate for U.S. government contracts and ensure accurate contract-related accounting.
• Oversee journal entries, account accuracy, supporting documentation, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate annual financial audits and work directly with internal and external auditors.
• Lead inventory accounting, cycle counts, annual physical inventory activities, and asset accuracy.
• Present financial and accounting information to executive leadership.
• Identify accounting issues, determine root causes, and implement practical solutions.
• Build strong partnerships with department managers to improve processes, policies, and communication.
• Develop, train, and mentor accounting team members.
• Build a strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and its impact across accounting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of U.S. government-contracting accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, cost accounting, cash management, AP, AR, and general accounting operations.
• 10+ years of total accounting experience strongly preferred for this senior-level scope.
• Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Accounting management or team leadership experience preferred.
• Deltek Costpoint ERP experience strongly preferred.
• Payroll, inventory accounting, audit coordination, and government documentation experience are valuable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
