• We are looking for an exceptional Lead Game UI Designer to redefine and elevate the visual identity of our game. In this role, you will not just skin wireframes: you will be the aesthetic catalyst who audits our current game, reimagines its look and feel, and establishes a bold, modern visual language that meets the highest global standards of contemporary gaming. Working closely with the Head of Design, Game designers and Product Designers, you will turn functional interfaces into stylish, immersive, and visually stunning experiences that captivate a worldwide audience.
• You will be working in an engineering-oriented fast-paced environment, with minimal management and detailed task definition. You need to be a self-starter and excel at making your own decisions and organizing your work according to the declared goals.
• This is a remote position with working hours that must align with Pacific Time (PT) business hours.

Responsibilities

• Prompt-to-Build AI Game Integration: Architect the in-game visual rules, UI templates, and style constraints for an innovative, AI-powered generation platform. You will design the system that allows players to write
• natural language prompts (what they want to build in-game) and automatically generates functional game UI components, style presets, or HUD assets that perfectly follow the established game design style.
• Scalable Game UI System: Design and establish the core architecture for a scalable, cross-platform game UI design system. You will define the foundational visual rules (including color theory, thematic typography, custom game iconography, graphic treatments, and HUD art direction) built specifically to scale across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
• Illustration System Strategy: Set the creative stage, visual guidelines, and style rules for all in-game illustrations, item cards, and achievement visuals. Define the aesthetic boundaries, rendering styles, and production workflows so that internal teams and AI-generation models can produce cohesive in-game illustrations at scale.
• Aesthetic Overhaul and Vision: Ruthlessly audit the current in-game interface, player HUD, and creation toolsets. Define a comprehensive visual makeover strategy to establish a fresh, world-class aesthetic that gives Nava a distinct, recognizable identity on the global stage.
• High-Fidelity Visual Targets & Prototypes: Build breathtaking in-game concept art, vertical-slice mockups, and interactive UI prototypes in Figma or engine environments that inspire the entire studio and set an undeniable benchmark for quality.
• Define Motion and 'Juice': Set the standard for how the game feels in motion. Design high-impact screen transitions, tactile button feedback, celebration/reward sequences, and micro-interactions that make every in-game action feel satisfying.
• Cross-Discipline System Handoff: Act as the aesthetic authority for Game UI across the studio during your contract. Partner directly with Technical UI Artists, Game Engineers, and AI developers to ensure your design styles and system assets are built for pixel-perfect implementation in-engine.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience shaping the visual UI identity and game design systems of successful commercial games.
• AI-Assisted Game Workflow Integration: Proven experience or deep conceptual understanding of utilizing
• generative AI tools, prompt engineering, or machine learning pipelines to maintain visual style consistency in game asset and UI generation.
• Expertise in Game UI Systems: A master-level track record of building and maintaining component-based Game UI libraries, style guides, and design systems in Figma, specifically optimized for complex in-game systems and menus.
• Illustration & Iconography Art Direction: Demonstrated experience setting the artistic direction for in-game illustration systems, item styles, and custom game iconography sets.
• Premium Portfolio: A standout game UI portfolio demonstrating extraordinary visual taste, master-level composition, modern typography, custom iconography, color mastery, and sophisticated game motion design.
• Sandbox & UGC Passion: A strong passion for building creative tools, sandbox games, or UGC platforms, with a deep understanding of what makes creative gaming interfaces intuitive and engaging.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexible to attend remote meetings during the evening, when required
• Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada.
• Ability to work during Pacific Time Zone regular business hours.
