Job description

• As a Demand Planner at Arc’teryx, you will build and maintain the rolling demand forecast for your assigned category, building statistically driven baselines, translating assortment plans into demand projections, and contributing to the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle with a consensus plan that connects near-term execution to a 1-5-year demand view. You will work across a broad cross-functional network, including Merchandise Financial Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Allocations, Merchandising, FP&A, and Commercial, bringing rigor and commercial curiosity to every forecast you produce. This is a role for a planner who knows how to balance statistical discipline with business judgment, who takes pride in forecast accuracy, and who is continuously looking for ways to improve.
• This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• If you were in the Demand Planner role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
• Developing and maintaining a rolling near and long-term demand forecast, one to five years out, for your assigned category, including generating baseline statistical forecasts and translating assortment launch plans into demand projections
• Participating in the IBP cycle to build a consensus demand plan, reconciling top-down financial targets with bottom-up SKU-level forecasts
• Providing volume outlooks to Supply Planning to support capacity and buy decisions, and building demand curves for new product launches
• Conducting scenario and risk planning, identifying demand risks and supply constraints, and communicating findings to cross-functional partners
• Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
• Contributing to IBP process improvements and forecast accuracy initiatives within your category
• Expanding scenario and risk planning coverage to provide more consistent demand signals to Supply Planning and Inventory Planning ahead of key buy decisions

Requirements

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
• You have 3-5+ years of experience in Demand Planning or Merchandise Planning, preferably in a global consumer goods or apparel environment
• You have demand forecasting experience, including statistical forecasting knowledge and advanced Excel and data manipulation skills, with experience with global and regional nuances
• You bring a strong understanding of retail KPIs
• You have experience with new product forecasting, including building demand curves for launches
• You have experience with advanced planning tools such as o9, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, Oracle (preferred)
• You are comfortable working across large, complex data environments
• You are a strong analytical problem-solver who can balance forecast accuracy with business strategy and translate data into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional partners
• You are comfortable operating in a monthly IBP cadence, contributing to consensus planning and reconciling top-down and bottom-up plans
• You are a collaborative partner, able to work effectively with multiple diverse teams across the business
• You are proactive about continuous improvement and bring a results-oriented approach to forecast accuracy and process maturity

• The salary range for this role is: CAD$82,000 - CAD$108,000
