Operations Coordinator (internal candidates only) at Compass Family Services in San Francisco, CA

Job description

• This position is only open to current Intake Specialists at Compass Family Resource Center.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities: The Operations Coordinator manages CFRC food distribution services and volunteers, and supports the overall operational functioning of the CFRC program.
• Coordinate weekly food distribution, station assignments, and line management.
• Work the full weekly food distribution to ensure smooth functioning and an organized client flow.
• Place weekly food orders with the SF Food Bank and other partners, including Sysco. Ensure food items are appropriate for the Compass population.
• Coordinate food delivery, working with vendors to ensure appropriate delivery times. Operate the pallet jack and lead the unloading process.
• Manage inventory of food items in the distribution center, ensuring product is ordered in appropriate quantities, and the distribution center is organized.
• Maintain food safety and OSHA safety standards. Ensure “first-in-first-out” product rotation and appropriate temperature settings. Request staff safety modifications as needed from the CFRC Program Director.
• Ensure accurate, up-to-date food distribution data entry.
• Train and manage volunteers for the food distribution program, ensuring clear communication and managing conflict resolution.
• During non-distribution days, assist with the operational functioning of the drop-in center. Coordinate and organize package unloading. Sanitize equipment as needed, assist with supply inventory and ordering.
• Facilitate Fun Pass reservations.
• Collaborate with the Office Manager/Receptionist to maintain smooth flow within the building, ensuring clients are directed to the appropriate program.
• As needed, provide backup assistance in moments of client crisis escalation
• As needed during non-distribution days, assist with Intake Specialist drop-in shifts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently employed as an Intake Specialist at Compass Family Resource Center.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and issues facing homeless families.
• Experience working in crisis situations; ability to assess and de-escalate situations quickly
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Salesforce experience is a plus.
• Outstanding work habits: strong communication skills, reliable, team-oriented, organized
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging work.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds (essential for working with a team to handle diaper/food/clothing deliveries).

Benefits

• Compensation: $32 - $36 hourly
• Salary range: $32 - $36 per hour, 7.5 hours per day / 37.5 hours per week. Non-exempt.
• Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation your first year, 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave.
