- The Specialist, Sales and Business is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and supporting sales growth in company markets. This role collaborates with internal teams on estimating and project planning, promotes company capabilities to clients, and contributes to strategic marketing efforts. Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Conduct meetings with new and existing clients to promote company services and develop long-term relationships
- Document all outside sales activity and submit reports for review by manager
- Support branch marketing initiatives by distributing targeted promotional materials and educating clients on company capabilities
- Assist estimating and design teams as needed
- Work closely with department supervisors to support design, estimating, and project planning efforts
- Coordinate with peers and internal support teams across the company to align business development efforts with company goals
- Contribute to strategic planning and department performance improvement initiatives
- Commit to personal growth by participating in internal and external professional development opportunities
- Evaluate own performance and coordinate with supervisor to develop and execute a personal development plan that supports both team and self-advancement
- Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
Requirements
- High school education (or equivalent) required
- Four-year electrical engineering (or relevant) degree required
- Five years field training required
- Past leadership experience preferred
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable
- Extensive knowledge of the electrical industry design and installation processes.
- Customer-service orientation and ability to build new and existing relationships easily.
- Ability to understand the customers' needs and make recommendations.
- Ability to think conceptually and recommend practical solutions.
- Capability to self-start, display solid work ethic, and aspire to reach goals/objectives.
- Strong communication skills (both written and spoken) to clearly convey ideas.
- Organizational skills for documentation of contacts and opportunities
