Job description

• We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA and support data-driven initiatives. The Mid-Level Data Engineer will play a key role in data cleaning, basic analysis, and preparing data for visualization. This position will support dashboard development, AI-based analysis, data preprocessing, quality assurance, data integration, and the creation of meaningful visualizations that support customer requirements.
• The successful candidate will contribute to the development of data products and analytical solutions that enable informed decision-making. This role requires the ability to work with both structured and unstructured data and apply data engineering, visualization, and AI/ML techniques to meet customer and mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and basic analysis to prepare datasets for visualization and downstream use.
• Develop dashboards and conduct analysis using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.
• Perform data preprocessing, quality checks, validation, and data integration activities.
• Create clear, accurate, and meaningful data visualizations to support analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
• Provide quality assurance for data products, analyses, dashboards, visualizations, and related deliverables.
• Develop interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) models and techniques to support analysis of unstructured and complex data.
• Collaborate with team members and customers to understand data requirements and develop solutions that effectively address mission and business needs.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the labor category, such as Information Technology, Information Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Engineering, from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and must be able to obtain a polygraph.
• Polygraph must have been completed within the last 10% of the required experience period.
• Eight (8) years of experience providing data engineering and visualization support, with at least a portion of that experience obtained within the last two (2) years.
• Demonstrated experience with data cleaning, preprocessing, quality assurance, data integration, analysis, and visualization.
• Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) techniques and their application to structured and unstructured data.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
• Previous experience supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC).
• Experience supporting sensitive or mission-critical customer requirements.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to unstructured data.
• Experience developing AI-enabled analytical solutions and data products.
• Experience working in a government contracting or federal customer environment.
