Job description

• The Associate Accountant position will support the Agency’s accounts receivable functions and monthly accounting responsibilities, including account analysis, billing issue resolution, journal entries, and reconciliations. The position will also support monthly accounting and billing activities for the Self-Direction program and maintain rent, utility, lease, and housing subsidy information for the Customized Residential Operations (CRO) program. • Pay for this position: $24.86 / hr - $26.68 / hr
• The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities

• Support the A/R Manager with account analysis, monthly account reconciliations, report filing, and follow-up related to billing issues.
• Follow up on and resolve accounts receivable billing issues and errors.
• Create monthly account journal entries as directed by the Accounts Receivable Manager.
• Deposit checks twice each week through physical scanner.
• Prepare monthly cash receipt journal entries.
• Process credit card payments as needed.
• Assist with maintaining eVero and Millin to support accurate billing for self-directed participants.
• Assist with the creation of new Self-Direction vendors.
• Oversee the Paid Neighbor process for the Agency.
• Complete monthly Self-Direction accounting responsibilities, including revenue entries and reclasses for designated budget expense categories.
• Maintain the amortization of Self-Direction prepaid expenses.
• Assist with reviewing Self-Direction payable batches integrated with the accounting software.
• Calculate rental amounts for annual lease updates for CRO homes.
• Maintain the CRO rent and utility worksheet for billing and invoicing purposes.
• Prepare and file the Agency’s fuel tax returns.
• Assist with audits and other tasks for the Resident Accounts team.
• Assist with special projects to identify and improve revenue streams and reporting.
• Provide backup support for other accounts receivable team members during vacations or other absences.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, advanced Microsoft Excel, and a working knowledge of Great Plains.
