Global Payroll Operations Specialist - Canada at Rippling in Bangalore, India

• We’re looking for a Global Payroll Operations Specialist to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team, focused on supporting our customers across Canada.
• This role sits at the intersection of payroll operations, customer experience, compliance, and product execution. You will help ensure that Rippling’s Canadian payroll operations are accurate, scalable, audit-ready, and responsive to the needs of customers, internal partners, and government agencies.
• This is an Operations Specialist role for an independent contributor who can manage their own workload, own defined workflows and sub-processes, resolve moderately complex payroll issues with minimal supervision, and improve existing processes as the business scales. The ideal candidate combines strong Canadian payroll knowledge with operational discipline, customer empathy, structured problem solving, and clear cross-functional communication.
• You will own key operational work across Canadian payroll, tax filings, agency notices, reconciliations, audits, and customer-impacting escalations. You will also partner closely with Global Payroll Product, Engineering, Support, Tax Operations, third parties, and government agencies to identify product gaps, improve tooling, strengthen SOPs, and create an optimal payroll experience for customers.
• Note: This is a hybrid role in our Bangalore office, with an expected schedule of 6:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST to align with EST hours.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute recurring Canadian payroll operations, tax filings, remittances, reconciliations, and audits independently and with precision.
• Manage operational timelines, resolve moderately complex payroll and compliance issues with minimal supervision, and surface risks early with clear recommendations.
• Deliver high-quality customer communication and de-escalate complex cases through clear updates, accurate QA, and structured root-cause analysis.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to identify product gaps, address workflow breakdowns, and translate findings into scalable tooling and updated SOPs.
• Liaise with Canadian federal and provincial agencies (CRA, Revenu Québec, Service Canada, WSIB) to resolve operational notices and maintain up-to-date expertise.
• Maintain accurate Jira case documentation, workbooks, and evidence to ensure auditability and seamless cross-functional handoffs.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in payroll, tax operations, or customer-facing operations, with deep knowledge of Canadian payroll, statutory deductions, filings, and 2026 regulations.
• Working knowledge of Canadian payroll agency workflows (CRA, Revenu Québec, Service Canada, EHT, WSIB, RL-1s, ROEs, and tax notices).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven track record of managing deadline-driven work and resolving complex compliance issues independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer empathy and de-escalation abilities under pressure.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Support, Tax Operations, and external government agencies.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets for data reconciliations and audits; experience with Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, or Google Workspace is a plus.
• Strong ownership mindset with a proactive approach to continuous process improvement and SOP refinement.
