- As a Senior Accountant, you'll be a key contributor to Kinsale's Finance team — driving the close process, supporting statutory and regulatory reporting, and playing an active role in process improvement initiatives. You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment alongside finance and cross-functional colleagues who value accuracy, initiative, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Drive the close process through preparation of a broad range of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, including insurance and reinsurance entries, intercompany transactions, expense allocations, tax accruals, and investment activity.
- Assist with ERP system administration and general-ledger maintenance.
- Actively participate in identifying and implementing process improvements, including the adoption of AI-driven workflows.
- Assist with accounting for reinsurance arrangements and related reporting.
- Prepare internal controls and relevant reporting packages for assigned process areas.
- Record and report certain compliance-facing tax filings and issue related payments.
- Serve as a key contributor in the preparation of quarterly statutory reporting schedules.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives and perform ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a finance-related field preferred.
- Two to four years of accounting experience required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred.
- One to three years of related insurance experience preferred.
- High degree of accuracy and efficiency, with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with NetSuite and prior use or implementation of AI tools is a plus.
