• We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial success of complex projects through reporting, analysis, forecasting, and accounting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial results, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project outcomes.
• This is a 12-month contract position with strong potential to transition into a permanent role based on business needs and individual performance.

Responsibilities

• Project Accountant supporting a major contributor project(s) or a portfolio of projects.
• Preparation of Monthly Project Reporting and Analysis on Revenue, Gross Margin, Cash Flow & Bookings/Backlog.
• Ensure Accounts Receivable and Work in Progress are current and follow up on any overdue or outstanding amounts.
• Assist with preparation of Project Forecasts, Budgets and Estimates.
• Prepare monthly Revenue Recognition and Accrual entries, in line with IFRS 15.
• Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations/Entries.
• Review and process Project Changes/Reforecasts and ensure they are accurately reflected in the Oracle System.
• Ensure all month end entries/reporting deadlines set out by Business Unit or Corporate are met.
• Maintain good communication with relevant Project Stakeholders including Project Controls, Procurement, Project Management and Finance/Shared Services.
• Ensure Letters of credit and other guarantees are in place and meet contractual obligations.
• Perform Ad-hoc reporting requests, as required.
• Contribute to team Process Improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• CPA designation (or progress toward completion) is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, project accounting, or a related financial role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on Excel; experience with financial systems and ERP platforms is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Self-motivated team player with a continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
