- Litigation Paralegals work closely with senior-level attorneys and team members in managing litigation cases in a variety of practice areas that include criminal defense; medical malpractice; personal injury; probate, trust and estate planning; and workers’ compensation. This team player has a friendly, positive attitude and a high level of professionalism who will play a key supporting role to ensure our clients are well served.
Responsibilities
- Managing, organizing and facilitating complex litigation cases involving multiple parties and counsel
- Collecting, managing, organizing, and reviewing large volumes of discovery documents electronically
- Well-developed writing and research skills
- Drafting pleadings, discovery, and routine correspondence
- Applying both state and federal court rules of civil procedure
- Calculating, calendaring and tracking court deadlines, and coordinating the scheduling of depositions, mediations, hearings and trials
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Certification in Paralegal Studies
- 3+ years of experience in a combination of the position practice areas
- Proficiency in applying court rules and procedures in both state and federal courts
- Experience in requesting, reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical, financial, and other case-related documents and records
- Well-developed writing and research skills
- Experience drafting pleadings, discovery and routine correspondence
- Experience in identifying, tracking, and managing case-related deadlines in an electronic and paper calendaring system
- The ability to anticipate attorney needs, identifying problems and finding solutions
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload
- Experience in managing electronic and paper filing systems
- Experience preparing for arbitration, mediation and trial
