Job description
- The Mullins Center is looking for an Operations Lead to assist in leading operational changeovers, involving Ice Hockey, Basketball, and Stage builds. This position will be responsible for assisting in these conversions as well as making sure game day setup is correct for all Mullins Center events. This position will also assist in leading Operations Staff for game days, involving both game operations and parking needs.
- This role will pay an hourly rate of $22.00.

- This position will remain open until December 25, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Reports to the Mullins Center following arena changeovers to ensure outstanding tasks are addressed and all event preparations are completed.
- Complete necessary tasks to ensure the venue is ready for competition and for spectators to enter. Arena assessment post changeover.
- Have insight into all operations staff activities for events at the Mullins Center, including parking operations, back-of-house setup, concourse layout, event room sets, and overall arena checkpoints fulfilled
- Operate equipment as needed: Floor machines, vacuums, ladders, etc.
- Resolves problems in a timely manner; analyzes and gathers information and identifies alternative solutions quickly & effectively.
- Assist with leading operations, guiding part-time staff with game day tasks and responsibilities, and ensuring all aspects of events are operationally sound.
- Assist with shift changes and scheduling questions.
- Be present for the majority of the Mullins Center events.
Requirements
- Previous operations and/or event changeover experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle several tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess strong leadership skills and be a team player.
- Able to work various hours, including daytime office hours, holidays, evenings, and weekends.

The attached building has a permanent ice rink for recreational skating and for use as a practice facility for intercollegiate hockey and an intramural program. Three racquetball courts for intramural and general use are also enclosed in this building. The Mullins Center design also includes a number of multi-purpose rooms, athletic offices, and a press area.
