Responsibilities
- Corporate and Regulatory Filings, Compliance Framework Support, Contract Maintenance and Branch Governance Oversight:
- Maintain corporate filings for the Canada Branch entities, including annual returns, corporate registration updates, extra-provincial registrations, and other required corporate submissions.
- Maintain the regulatory filing calendar, including tracking deadlines, filing requirements and regulatory deliverables. Prepare and file insurance licence renewals and related submissions.
- Primary administrator of regulatory online portals, including OSFI and provincial insurance regulators.
- Coordinate the Branch Steering Committee meetings, including organization and preparation of agendas, papers, presentations, minutes, and action item tracking, ensuring materials are prepared and distributed in a timely manner.
- Assist with Group Compliance reporting, including gathering information, following up with stakeholders, and supporting the completion of recurring and ad hoc reporting obligations.
- Assist with regulatory interactions, including regulator meetings, regulatory filings, regulatory correspondence, and ad hoc regulator requests, helping to ensure timely filings, responses, and appropriate documentation.
- Maintain the Regulatory Tracker, monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to insurance and financial services, and support group horizon scanning initiatives.
- Support business partners by assistance with local training sessions and providing guidance on compliance-related best practices, including policy implementation, governance expectations, documentation standards, and regulatory awareness.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, standards, and related documentation aligned with internal requirements and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Assist with the Ethidex annual review process and other compliance monitoring and testing activities designed to assess whether Branch processes and controls are operating effectively and in accordance with internal requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Assist in the preparation of compliance reporting, metrics and management updates.
- Work collaboratively with business units and control functions to promote a strong compliance culture and support the integration of regulatory requirements into Branch operations, governance processes, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Significant experience in compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, corporate governance, or a related control function, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong working knowledge of corporate filings, insurance licensing, governance processes, and compliance oversight tools (e.g., Ethidex).
- Familiarity with Canadian insurance regulatory frameworks and regulatory bodies, including OSFI and provincial insurance regulators.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a highly organized and detail-oriented manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional memoranda, reports, meeting minutes, summaries, and presentations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and to build effective working relationships with business stakeholders, control functions, and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.

Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000 – $105,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
