• The HR Systems & Operations Generalist serves as a versatile resource across the Human Resources department, supporting daily operations while developing practical capability in multiple HR disciplines. The role builds workforce and data integrity, strengthens continuity of service, and provides trained backup capacity in critical, high-risk functions, including compliance and payroll. Assignments may expand over time to benefits, recruitment, onboarding, and HR information systems (HRIS), based on department needs, completed training, and demonstrated proficiency.
• This is a developmental, cross-functional position. The employee will carry defined ongoing responsibilities while rotating through prioritized assignments and may, over time, develop deeper specialization in areas aligned with individual strengths and organizational needs. Any change in primary assignment or reporting relationship is determined by HR leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide dependable, responsive support to assigned HR functions; coordinate priorities with the applicable functional manager and maintain accountability for deadlines, accuracy, and employee service.
• Cross-train in designated compliance processes, including documentation, Immigration matters, audit preparation, policy and record tracking, regulatory calendars, and follow-up on identified exceptions.
• Develop payroll backup proficiency through supervised training in time and employee-data validation, payroll input, reconciliations, exception resolution, and documented cycle procedures; perform assigned payroll tasks only after authorization and demonstrated readiness.
• Support benefits administration, workers’ compensation, and immigration-related workflows as assigned, following established procedures and referring sensitive determinations to the responsible subject-matter expert.
• Assist with internal and external recruitment, hiring administration, onboarding, new-hire orientation, employee changes, and related employee-lifecycle transactions when coverage or project needs require.
• Develop working knowledge of Paycom and other HR systems; support data entry, access-controlled troubleshooting, workflow testing, reporting, and documentation in coordination with the HRIS Lead and process owners.
• Monitor and help reconcile employee, position, reporting-line, pay-related, and status data across HR processes; identify discrepancies, document corrections, and escalate matters affecting workforce or payroll integrity.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures, cross-training materials, coverage checklists, and process documentation so critical work can continue during absences, vacancies, and transitions.
• Participate in scheduled backup exercises and selected live cycles; maintain current skills in approved secondary assignments without bypassing required review, approvals, or separation-of-duties controls.
• Prepare accurate recurring reports and data checks for HR leaders; flag trends, incomplete records, control gaps, or service risks and recommend practical process improvements.
• Work collaboratively with Employee Relations, Compliance, Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment, Onboarding, Learning & Development, HRIS, Finance, and IT while respecting each function’s decision rights.
• Safeguard confidential employee information, apply least-privilege system access, maintain complete records and audit trails, and promptly report suspected errors or control failures.
• Perform other related duties and temporary cross-functional assignments as assigned by the HR Director.

• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ability to learn HRIS, payroll, reporting, and documentation systems.

• Clear communication, customer service, collaboration, and willingness to work under the direction of multiple functional experts while maintaining one designated supervisor.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Must sign the Statement of Faith.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, service, discretion, and the ability to represent the organization well in a Christian ministry environment.
• A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
• A Charis Bible College graduate is preferred.
• Must complete all required training and obtain appropriate permissions before assuming duties in payroll, compliance, HRIS, benefits, or other restricted processes.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
• Must pass all required checks.
• Experience in HR administration, payroll, benefits, compliance, HR systems, business operations, or a related administrative field preferred; demonstrated ability to learn across functions is essential.
• Experience with accurate data management, Excel reporting, process documentation, and confidential records preferred.

• $4,833.33 - $5,333.33 Salary/month
• Compensation is commensurate with experience.
