Job description

• Torch Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated Senior Software Developer that can work with a team to design, implement, and test a Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) THAAD simulation program. Candidates may be required to travel for a small portion of each year during Flight tests and other travel activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills both oral and written; exhibit the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, customer focused work environment. We are seeking a candidate who has knowledge in configuration management focus, test driven development, and real time development.

Responsibilities

• The candidate will work with a team to maintain current versions of the software and build new capabilities.
• The candidate will also participate in a modernization effort to incorporate GPU processing to the real time software.
• The candidate will be responsible for vetting modernization efforts, deep diving into the most complex issues, and design/implementation of new code features into a robust codebase.
• The candidate will also be responsible for bolstering the whole team’s knowledge base through training and mentorship.

Requirements

• US Citizenship.
• Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
• 15or more years progressively complex software design engineering experience, as well as 20+ years experience in C/C++ Software development.
• Years experience can be substituted for Masters degree.
• Red Hat Linux Development environment.
• Strong git repository skills for configuration management.
• Exposure to signal injection for sensors.
• Experience with every portion of Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with HWIL development alongside OEMs.
• Experience with optimizing software to fully utilize different hardware platforms.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Adaptive capability to large source code bases.
• Love for C++ modernization.
• Strong background in learning new technologies.
• Exposure to DevSecOps concepts.
• Networking knowledge.
• Ability to communicate deep technical knowledge to all levels of understanding.
