Job description

• The Performance Marketing Manager will lead the strategy for marketing messaging for the Club's full-funnel paid media and owned-channel strategy, driving ticket revenue, fan affinity and engagement across all available platforms. This role owns the planning, execution and optimization of paid campaigns across paid social and connected TV, while also serving as the primary messaging strategist and project manager of the Club's Owned & Operated channels, including email, SMS, push notifications, radio, preseason broadcast, and creator/influencer partnerships. The ideal candidate is data-driven, flexing between performance media tactics and brand-building through storytelling to support key revenue campaigns including season ticket renewals, schedule release, single-game on-sale, and group sales. This person will work cross-functionally with Ticket Sales, Content, Digital and league partners to ensure every channel is optimized against clear KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage performance marketing budgets and media plans, allocating spend across channels based on real-time performance data and seasonal priorities.
• Plan, execute, and optimize paid media campaigns across paid social (Meta, X, TikTok, LinkedIn), connected TV, programmatic display and SEO to drive ticket sales, membership, and fan affinity program growth goals.
• Serve as primary owner of strategy for marketing messaging for Owned & Operated (O&O) channels including email marketing, SMS, push notifications, team radio and TV broadcast spots, ensuring consistent messaging, cadence, and performance tracking across all platforms.
• Build messaging for email/SMS/push marketing calendar, including segmentation, automation flows, and A/B testing to maximize open, click, and conversion rates.
• Oversea campaign strategy and execution for season ticket renewals, schedule release, single-game ticket on-sale, and group sales promotions, aligning paid and owned tactics to hit revenue targets.
• Lead creative process with internal teams to develop channel-specific ad and O&O assets (video, static, radio scripts, push copy) tailored to platform best practices.
• Coordinate with league marketing team to leverage league-owned assets, co-branded creative, and shared media opportunities that extend the club's reach.
• Integrate content creators and influencers for game-day activations, ticket promotions, and O&O content amplification.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign KPIs (CPA, ROAS, CTR, conversion rate, list growth, engagement rate) and translate insights into actionable optimization recommendations.
• Collaborate with Business Analytics team to ensure clean data flow between ticketing/CRM systems and marketing platforms.
• Manage vendor and agency relationships for paid media buying.
• In tandem with Business Analytics team, build post-campaign recaps and season-long performance reports for marketing leadership, tying marketing activity directly to ticket revenue and fan engagement outcomes.
• Stay current on platform updates, privacy/tracking changes, and emerging channels (e.g., new social platforms, streaming inventory) and recommend where the Club should test or invest next.
• Support larger marketing team on-site for gameday specific assistance for all home games and special events including, but not limited to, Affinity Marketing and other fan focused events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in performance marketing, digital marketing, or CRM/lifecycle marketing, ideally within sports or entertainment.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to run multiple concurrent campaigns in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Extensive experience with project tracking software, inputting and tracking marketing campaigns (i.e. Asana).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with Ticket Sales, Digital, Business Analytics and Content teams along with League partners.
• Proven hands-on experience anchoring strategy for paid social campaigns, including budget management and platform-level optimization.
• Strong familiarity with email/SMS/push marketing platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Attentive ) and CRM/ticketing systems (e.g., Ticketmaster).
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel/Sheets, Google Analytics, and platform ad managers (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads).
• Experience integrating influencer/creator partnership campaigns and measuring content performance.
