Job description

• Leads cross-functional operational initiatives that advance approved business objectives , improve operational processes, and strengthen service delivery across departments and business units. This role partners with organizational leaders to plan and execute strategic initiatives, align stakeholders, support implementation and adoption, communicate progress, risks, and outcomes; and ensures measurable results are transitioned to operational owners for stabilization . The role also provides direction and accountability for assigned initiative support resources . business outcomes.
• The successful candidate will report directly to the VP, Operations , Business Optimization .
• Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, Wyoming , Illinois ; residents are not eligible .

Responsibilities

• Leads a portfolio of operational transformation initiatives from intake through implementation , ensuring objectives, success metrics, scope, milestones, alignment to organizational priorities, management of cross-project dependencies, mitigation of program risks , required decisions, regulatory requirements , and intended achievement of strategic business outcomes remain aligned with organizational priorities.
• Partners with business sponsors to support implementation of approved business objectives and communicates program outcomes, risks, and progress against established measures
• Drives execution and adoption by coordinating work across departments, resolving barriers, aligning stakeholders, and preparing teams through implementation, communication, and operational readiness plans.
• Communicates initiative status, risks, decisions, performance, and outcomes through clear executive updates, reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
• Facilitates collaboration among business leaders, operational teams, Product Owners, Technology, Workforce Management, and supporting functions to drive alignment and successful implementation.
• Leads the Operations Initiatives & Execution Coordinator by providing direction, coaching, development , and accountability for assigned work .
• Supports user readiness, business process adoption, post-launch monitoring, and continuous improvement following implementation.
• Facilitates meetings, working sessions, decision-making forums, and operational reviews to drive execution, issue resolution, and organizational alignment.
• Escalates risks, barriers, scope changes, resources constraints, and unresolved decisions with clear analysis and recommend ed actions
• Ensures ownership of benefits and performance measures is transferred to the appropriate operational lea der following project stabilization
• Follows existing departmental controls and procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Maintains regular, predictable, and consistent attendance and remains flexible to meet department needs.
• Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and private insurance regulations and requirements.
• Abides by all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration , Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, Analytics, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience leading complex business initiatives, operational projects, cross-functional programs, process improvement efforts, or organizational transformation initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, departments, systems, and business processes .
• Experience supporting technology-enabled transformation initiatives including workflow redesign, system implementations, process automation, or digital enablement projects
• Strong understanding of operational workflows, business process management, and organizational effectiveness principles.
• Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships , influence decision-making , and drive accountability and execution across all levels and functions of the organization without direct authority over participating teams .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience developing executive communications, presentations, status reports, and business recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word , Teams .
• Experience using project portfolio and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure Devops , or similar platforms preferred .
• Experience with project management, business process mapping, workflow documentation, operational optimization, continuous improvement, or organizational effectiveness initiatives preferred.
• Experience working with waterfall, agile, or hybrid project delivery methodologies preferred
• Self-motivated, highly organized, adaptable, and results-oriented .
• Creative and innovative problem-solver with strong business acumen.
