Responsibilities

• Seeking an "SME" Subject Matter Expert to achieve revenue targets by securing business with new global customers and selling additional services to current global customers.
• Lead and establish annual global Account plans for the target global accounts in conjunction with all the global / regional account managers.
• Build a qualified pipeline of opportunities by understanding customer buying cycles, requirements, and decision-makers
• Drive global sales revenue growth from target global accounts as per the account plans through deep engagement internally with all the regions and external engagement with the customers both in Japan and overseas
• Support new global size accounts development opportunities in conjunction with all the regional / country / global sales teams
• Clearly identify and set Sales Pipeline within the Industry vertical from all the global target accounts,
• Engage with all the regional commercial teams to set winning sales strategy for each account and align the account plans accordingly
• Work with all the regions on the major issues including tender management, implementation, spot quotations and other account related issues critical to onboard new sales opportunities.
• Maintain an active understanding of market trends, customer pain points, and competitive positioning to inform strategy and customer engagement
• Support or lead adhoc projects undertaken by the Corporate Sales Strategy HQ
• Maintains personal contact with large key customers.
• Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner.
• Determining market strategies & goals for each product.
• Set trade lane strategy with continued collaboration with multi-regional stakeholders
• Research and develop lists of potential customers by doing market research
• Secure information to create profile of customer Supply Chain to evaluate necessary solutions to be presented.
• Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect Trade Lane/Vertical
• Establishing & maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales
• Working with NEU/global sales staff and branch operations staff to establish a communication path with and within the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products &services

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in marketing, business administration, economics.
• 3+ plus years of business experience which should include
• Significant experience in sales and marketing preferably in a freight forwarding/logistics busines
• Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Willingness to travel extensively.
• Strong Communication skills – ability to conduct Sr. level corporate meetings and executive presentations.
• Strong self-motivation and strategic focus – ability to quickly identify key decision makers and opportunities.
• Ability to close business – clearly identify short and long-term Global Opportunities
• High level of negotiating skills – ability to negotiate global contracts and processes
• Strong coaching skills. Coach and mentor Regional/Local Sales staff
• Established Annual Revenue Target / Operation Profit Target
• Update Target Account list on a weekly basis
• Issue Customer quotations
• New Business reported and maintained on a monthly basis
• Attend meetings and report sales activity on a weekly basis as requested
• Ability to utilize CRM tools for clear and timely sales updates
• Strong MS Office skills- PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
• Strong leadership, management and organizational skills

• Salary - $130,000 - $147,000 with additional performance based incentives.
• This salary range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
