Business Development Manager at Plastech Corporation in Rush City, MN

Job description

• The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth by strengthening and expanding Plastech's relationships with existing strategic customers while selectively developing new long-term manufacturing partnerships. This position serves as a primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, builds multi-level relationships across sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, engineering, and leadership teams, and identifies opportunities to increase Plastech's share of customer business. The role also independently identifies and pursues large manufacturing and OEM prospects, with particular focus on opportunities capable of developing into $1 million or more in annual Plastech revenue. The Business Development Manager works closely with customer service, engineering, estimating, and operations to ensure customer needs are understood, communicated, and supported.

Responsibilities

• Driving profitable revenue growth by strengthening and expanding relationships with existing strategic customers
• Selectively developing new long-term manufacturing partnerships
• Serving as primary commercial contact for assigned accounts
• Building multi-level relationships across sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, engineering, and leadership teams
• Identifying opportunities to increase Plastech's share of customer business
• Independently identifying and pursuing large manufacturing and OEM prospects, with focus on opportunities capable of developing into $1 million or more in annual revenue
• Working closely with customer service, engineering, estimating, and operations to ensure customer needs are understood, communicated, and supported

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of successful B2B sales, business development, or strategic account management experience; manufacturing sales experience is strongly preferred.
• No specific degree is required. Relevant sales experience, business acumen, demonstrated results, and the ability to build strong customer relationships are valued over formal education requirements.
• General manufacturing knowledge is preferred. Injection molding, plastics, tooling, or related industry experience is beneficial but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively within large, complex organizations, including sourcing, commodity management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, engineering, and leadership functions.
• Strong analytical skills in evaluating business opportunities, customer fit, competitive positioning, pricing, revenue potential, and gross profit.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively use ERP, and other business systems as required. IQMS/DELMIAWorks knowledge is a plus.
• Understand and support the ISO standard and applicable sales department requirements.
