• Dhillon Healthcare Group is looking for a dynamic team player to join our amazing billing team! The Medical Billing Authorizations Specialist is responsible for ensuring precise and punctual submission of medical claims and bills to various payers and patients. This role significantly contributes to the delivery of high-quality patient care and successful treatment outcomes. Some of the job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Oversees claims, denials, and collections for Hospice agencies, providing backup support for Home Health agencies.
• Verify hospice eligibility and serve as backup for authorizations for Home Health.
• Act as the Skilled Nursing Facility Liaison for Seva Hospice, verifying all SNF claims and validating patient information, claim amount, share of cost, etc.
• Maintain an updated manual with processing eligibility and authorization requirements for each commercial payor/portal, including the login for any portals needing access.
• Obtain acceptance of financial responsibility for external provider claims and invoices reprice claims to Medicare rates, and submit to accounting for payment
• Insurance education and support to the Hospice and Home Health Clinical/Intake Teams
• Communicate professionally, courteously, and in a timely manner with all verbal and written contacts with staff, payors, vendors, and patients.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment with all internal clinical, intake, billing, and authorization teams.

Requirements

• At least two (2) years of experience in health care data entry, preferably in hospice care systems.
• At least one (1) year of previous healthcare-related authorization experience, preferably in home healthcare billing.
• Ability to operate IBM-compatible systems and equipment.
• Is a high school graduate or equivalent, two (2) years college preferred.
