• S&P Global Ratings is one of the world's leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. CREDit Program Analysts are part of a team that produces high-quality fundamental research and ratings based on established criteria and are positioned at the center of how investment decisions are made globally.
• You will engage with senior market participants and the global investor community across one of the largest providers of credit ratings in the world. The CREDit Graduate Program is a two-year training and development opportunity, with our next intake joining in September 2027.
• CREDit Program Analysts work across various practices and teams to meet the evolving demands of the global market, building a versatile skill set while contributing to our most impactful business areas.
• Our analytical practice groups include Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure. All analysts combine practical work experience with the completion of a relevant professional qualification - such as an MBA or CFA.

Responsibilities

• Team Contribution & Capability Building
• Build capability in credit, financial data, and analytical tooling by applying feedback quickly and adopting standard ways of working that reinforce consistent, decision-ready outputs.
• Contribute to AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and lightweight automation that augments team judgment, not replaces it, reducing rework and improving turnaround time.
• Support colleagues proactively with strong attention to detail, and contribute creative, resourceful ideas in collaborative team discussions.
• Champion continuous improvement by questioning existing processes, exploring new tools, and applying fresh perspectives to data and problem-solving.
• Core Analytical & Delivery
• Partner with analysts and managers to deliver reliable execution, including clear status updates, early escalation of risks, and consistent follow-through to protect quality and trust.
• Build and maintain high-quality research and data packs using standard templates, applying automation where appropriate to improve consistency while retaining human review of key outputs.
• Use approved large language model tools as an enabler to accelerate research, summarization, and initial drafting - followed by human validation, correction, and explicit evidence capture.
• Collect, clean, reconcile, and validate data; proactively identify inconsistencies, assess assumptions, and flag risks early.
• Support financial model maintenance and contribute to recurring analyst monitoring workflows and process improvement initiatives.
• Stakeholder & Market Engagement
• Monitor issuer, sector, and market developments and produce concise, clearly sourced summaries that help analysts move faster and inform decision-making.
• Translate data, analysis, and research into clear, actionable narratives for client and market engagement.
• Develop a client-oriented, solutions-focused mindset by observing and learning from service excellence in practice.
• Risk Management and Operating
• Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently across all analytical and operational activities.
• Support supervised piloting and testing of new tools within defined guidelines.

Requirements

• Education
• Current undergraduate or postgraduate student in the penultimate year of study only.
• We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines e.g. Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Math, Public Policy, Quantitative Analysis, Data and Statistics. This is as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking and storytelling e.g. Engineering and Sciences, Philosophy, Politics, Classics, Theology, English Language, English Literature and Languages.

• Demonstrated ability or clear willingness to develop strength in research and data analysis, synthesizing information into clear, concise, decision-ready outputs.
• Strong spreadsheet skills with a willingness to develop proficiency in data and automation tools to improve reliability and consistency.
• Practical fluency with generative AI and large language model tools — or a strong willingness to develop this — paired with sound validation discipline and judgment on when AI should not be used to protect accuracy and confidentiality.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research and analysis in a clear, structured format that supports informed decision-making.

• Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates:) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 USD to $90,000 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
