Senior Application Engineer (MicroE) at Veolia | North America in Trevose, PA, United States

Job description

• The position can be remote. This individual can work anywhere in North America.
• As an Sr. Applications Engineer, you'll be the first technical point of contact for our clients, partnering with Sales and Process Engineering to develop innovative water treatment solutions for complex, mission-critical applications. You'll own the complete proposal lifecycle—from lead qualification through system design, costing, and contract handover—while collaborating across global teams and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering
• Leverage expertise in mass transfer, fluid dynamics, and inorganic chemistry to design custom ultrapure water (UPW) systems
• Work across a diverse equipment portfolio including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, UV destruction, electrodeionization, and ion exchange technologies
• Develop process flow diagrams, mass balances, equipment selections, and system layouts with Process Engineering
• Proposal Leadership
• Own proposal schedules and coordinate resources across engineering teams
• Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships throughout the proposal cycle
• Evaluate technical specifications, manage scope changes, and ensure on-time delivery
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.) to develop comprehensive proposal packages
• Client Engagement
• Create compelling proposal documents that showcase Veolia's superior process designs and integrated solutions
• Support Sales with technical consultations and customer presentations
• Translate complex engineering into clear client communication.

Requirements

• Required
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a substantially similar engineering field
• 7+ years of experience in industrial process design, membrane technologies, purification, or a related field
• Strong foundation in mass transfer, fluid dynamics, and inorganic chemistry
• Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a global, fast-paced environment.
• Professional Engineer's License (PE) or ability to obtain one within 1 year
• Direct experience with water treatment systems and industrial operations
• Familiarity with ultrapure water or semiconductor manufacturing applications.
