- MDW Associates is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to provide senior-level budget formulation, execution, financial analysis, and process-improvement support to a complex Department of War organization. The position will help leaders translate financial data into accurate spend plans, execution reports, reconciliations, and decision-quality recommendations.
- This role supports a federal organization responsible for personnel security, mission assurance, and protection of sensitive work environments.
- This position is remote eligible; periodic on-site support in Quantico, Virginia may be required based on mission needs.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Budget Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:
- Analyze budget variances, financial projections, obligations, invoices, and execution data to support planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain spend-plan documentation, funding trackers, budget-adjustment logs, and routine execution metrics.
- Reconcile budget-management data with financial-system reports; research discrepancies and prepare documentation for government validation.
- Support reviews of unliquidated obligations, de-obligations, funding realignments, year-end closeout, and out-year requirements.
- Develop charts, tables, dashboards, briefings, SOPs, and process-improvement recommendations for leadership.
- Provide analytical and user-support assistance for budget-management and collaboration tools.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of quantitative analysis of financial or programmatic data.
- Experience with budget execution, financial reconciliation, spend planning, and executive-level reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to communicate financial results clearly to non-financial audiences.
- This position requires U.S. citizenship in accordance with applicable government contract requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; or 8+ years of relevant financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting experience.
- Candidates for this position must have an Active US Security Clearance (Secret).
- Experience with Department of Defense financial-management processes or enterprise financial systems.
- Experience using data-visualization, workflow, or service-management tools.
