• The Talend Integration Platform Analyst provides development, operational support, and continuous improvement services for the Data Management Platform's enterprise integration environment. The role is responsible for designing, developing, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing Talend-based integrations that support critical business applications, data exchanges, analytics, and reporting solutions.
• The analyst works closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, solution architects, platform administrators, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable integration services. The position supports ongoing platform operations while contributing new integration development and modernization initiatives across the Government of Alberta Data Management Platform.
• This is a hands-on technical role for someone who combines strong Talend and SQL development skills with a disciplined, service-oriented approach to platform operations including job scheduling, monitoring, error handling, and incident resolution; while collaborating with data engineers, platform administrators, ministry stakeholders, and vendor support partners.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing data integration solutions with Talend (Data Integration / Data Fabric / Talend Studio)
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Talend integration jobs, services, APIs, and reusable components.
• Translate business and data requirements into technical designs, data mappings, transformation logic, and reconciliation processes.
• Develop ETL/ELT solutions to integrate data across databases, files, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Build reusable, parameterized, and environment-aware integrations for development, test, and production environments.
• Implement scalable batch and near real-time integration solutions.
• Participate in solution design, estimation, and release planning activities.
• Deploy, schedule, orchestrate, and monitor Talend jobs, services, and platform components.
• Investigate and resolve integration issues, production incidents, data load failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Monitor platform health, job execution, throughput, and failures and Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery processes.
• Support production releases, platform upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance.
• Work with infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve platform and integration issues.
• Utilize AI and automation tools to streamline data engineering workflows, including pipeline development, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for code generation, optimization, and review to improve development efficiency and code quality.
• Other duties as needed

Requirements

• Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related field of study.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using Talend Studio. Experience should include developing ETL/ELT jobs, data transformations, orchestration workflows, error handling, and deployment-ready integration components supporting critical business processes
• 3 years of experience
• Experience administering and supporting Talend Management Console (TMC) or Talend Administration Center (TAC), including job deployment, scheduling, environment management, monitoring, execution tracking, release promotion, and operational support across development, test, and production environments.
• 5 years of experience
• Experience installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Talend Remote Engines, Job Servers, and Talend runtime infrastructure. Responsibilities should include environment maintenance, log analysis, performance tuning, connectivity troubleshooting, security configuration, and ensuring platform reliability and availability.
• 3 years of experience
• Experience providing production support for enterprise integration solutions, including incident management, root cause analysis, monitoring, performance optimization, configuration management, deployment validation, and resolution of integration failures in complex enterprise environments.
• 2 years of experience
• Experience working within a mature Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing Git-based source control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, testing, release management, documentation, and change management processes. Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support while adhering to organizational standards and governance
• 4 years of experience
• Use of AI-Experienced in using AI for code generation, data analysis, automation, and enhancing productivity in data engineering workflows.
• 1 years of experience
• Direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis related to data manipulation/transformation, cleansing and wrangling.
• 6 years of experience
• Experience and strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, optimization, and administration in enterprise environments.
• 6 years of experience
• Experience building scalable ETL pipelines, data quality enforcement, and cloud integration using TALEND technologies.
• 2 years of experience
• Skilled in building secure, scalable RESTful APIs for data exchange, with robust auth, error handling, and support for real-time automation.
• 3 years of experience
• Experience in Message Queueing Technologies, implementing message queuing using tools like ActiveMQ and Service Bus for scalable, asynchronous communication across distributed systems.
• 3 years of experience
• Experience working with ServiceNow- Azure based Data Management Platform Integrations.
