Investment Accounting Senior Analyst at KKR in Boston

Job description

• KKR Insurance seeks to recruit a Senior Analyst to join the Investment Accounting team. The individual will support the monthly and quarterly close process, investment accounting and reporting, reconciliations, analytical review, and ongoing enhancement of processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual investment accounting close activities
• Prepare and review reconciliations between investment accounting systems, the general ledger, holdings data and other source systems; investigate and resolve reconciling items
• Support accounting and reporting for a broad range of investments, including fixed income securities, structured securities, mortgage and other loans, alternative investments and derivatives
• Perform period-over-period analytical reviews of investment balances, income and other financial statement activity, and investigate significant or unusual movements
• Coordinate with Investment Operations, Portfolio Management, Reinsurance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Investment Controls and other teams to resolve accounting and reporting matters
• Assist with the accounting and reporting assessment of new investments, transaction structures and other business initiatives
• Prepare supporting documentation for investment accounting conclusions, reconciliations, financial reporting and key control activities
• Participate in system implementations, enhancements, testing and other initiatives impacting investment accounting processes and data
• Identify opportunities for process enhancement, standardization and automation and assist with implementation
• Support ad hoc investment accounting analyses and other projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment accounting, insurance accounting, public accounting, financial reporting, investment operations or a related field
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with U.S. Statutory accounting is preferred.
• Familiarity with investment products such as fixed income securities, structured products, mortgage loans, private credit, alternative investments and/or derivatives is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve accounting and data-related issues
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a high volume of work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Clearwater Analytics, PeopleSoft or other investment accounting/general ledger systems is preferred
• Ability to quickly understand new investment products, accounting concepts and processes
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation and technology-enabled solutions
• CPA or progress toward CPA designation is a plus

Benefits

• This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.

• $75,000 - $110,000 USD
