Responsibilities

• As a User Interface Designer, you will play a key role in shaping high-quality interfaces for products used by thousands of healthcare professionals worldwide. You work at the intersection of visual design, usability, clinical reality and technical implementation, creating interfaces that are clear, consistent, feasible and genuinely helpful in critical moments.
• In this role, you will design user interfaces for innovative solutions in the field of Advanced Therapies used during minimally invasive procedures.
• Your work will help interventional teams quickly understand complex clinical information and make confident decisions, from imaging through to intervention. A particular focus will be on clinical and sterile environments, where safety, efficiency and usability are essential.
• Design and refine user interfaces across a wide range of touchpoints, ensuring visual clarity, consistency, and usability within complex clinical workflows.
• Create high-fidelity, pixel-perfect user interfaces using our advanced design system, and deliver clear, implementation-ready design specifications for development teams.
• Conduct design quality reviews of implemented software and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance visual consistency and implementation quality across products.
• Work closely with UX Researchers, Interaction Designers, Industrial Designers, and Developers in cross-functional teams to translate design concepts into high-quality product experiences.
• Partner with frontend engineers throughout handoff and implementation to ensure design intent, visual details, and interactions are accurately realized in the final product.
• Gain firsthand insight into clinical environments by participating in hospital and practice shadowing sessions to develop a deep understanding of users, their needs, and their workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Media Design, User Interface Design, or a related field, with exceptional visual expertise
• A strong portfolio demonstrating your visual design craftsmanship, digital product experience and problem-solving skills
• 7+ years of professional experience in an agency or in-house UX team, with a substantial digital-focused portfolio.
• High proficiency in design tools such as Figma and a strong understanding of design systems at scale.
• Good understanding of how user interfaces are implemented in software products, including HTML, CSS and component-based frontend architectures.
• Proven experience partnering with software development teams, creating implementation-ready design specifications, and conducting design quality reviews to ensure accurate implementation and adherence to design system standards.
• Experience in medical technology is a plus; curiosity and willingness to dive deep into complex clinical workflows are even more important.
• Strong visual design skills, including expertise in layout, typography, color, visual hierarchy, composition, and visual concept development.
• A user-centered, design-driven mindset with a strong focus on clarity, usability, and product quality.
• Passion for design craftsmanship, implementation quality, and detail-oriented collaboration throughout the product development process, from concept to final delivery.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with UX, development, and cross-functional partner teams across Siemens Healthineers
