- DIRECT HIRE: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Pump Mechanic to join a dynamic team in the Richmond, CA area.
Responsibilities
- Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, paint, package/prepare for shipment API centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment
- Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements
- Monitor progress of repairs and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs
- Serve as one of the most experienced tradesman in the shop
- Set the positive leadership tone and behavior
- Interact with customers in a positive way showing them how you care about their business
- Assist the Supervisor in the execution of all work
Requirements
- 10 + years of experience working in a pump repair shop facility with previous experience repairing API centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment prepared
- Experience repairing API/Engineered pumps, creating details, and making technical decisions
- In-depth understanding of API 610, and other applicable standards
- Ability to read pump sectional, machine drawings, and OEM pump manuals
- Disassembly, inspection, ability to write up a detailed rotating equipment report to all necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed (Examples: assembly prep, assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment, painting of finished repair and final inspection)
- Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment
- Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing preferred
- Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
