Job description

• The Customer Service Representative serves as the key interface between customers and internal business functions, managing order fulfillment, logistics coordination, invoicing, and issue resolution. This role leverages strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to support customer satisfaction, maintain critical business data, promote supply chain efficiency, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Represent OxyChem's high standards of business conduct while delivering exceptional customer service and promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between OxyChem and corporate customers across the United States and Canada.
• Partner closely with Sales and Supply Chain teams to onboard new customers and foster strong customer-supplier relationships.
• Manage end-to-end order fulfillment activities, including SAP order entry, shipment coordination, invoicing, and customer follow-up.
• Maintain accurate customer and business-critical information across multiple systems.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships to effectively communicate with customers and navigate internal business processes.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve challenges throughout the order-to-cash process.
• Communicate invoice and billing information and assist with resolving billing discrepancies.
• Advocate for customer needs by sharing product demand forecasts, delivery concerns, service updates, and customer feedback with internal teams.
• Maintain working knowledge of transportation methods, including motor, rail, water, and pipeline logistics.
• Support supply chain operations through an understanding of inventory management, warehousing, and logistics processes.
• Document and track customer issues within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
• Promote customer service solutions, including vendor-managed inventory, e-commerce tools, online self-service options, and paperless ordering.
• Administer sales order policies, including lead-time requirements, order control programs, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance standards.
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience, or
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
• Knowledge of order processing, billing, manufacturing, transportation, and logistics processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized with a strong customer focus.
• Proven problem-solving, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
