• This newly created HR Business Partner role offers a unique opportunity to influence the next phase of growth for a leading global automation and technology business.
• Reporting to the HR Director ANZ, you will bring an enterprise-wide perspective while remaining closely connected to the operational realities of the business. You will partner with leaders across Projects, Service and Operations to anticipate workforce challenges, strengthen organisational capability, and translate business strategy into meaningful people outcomes.
• This is a commercially significant portfolio where you'll have the opportunity to move beyond day-to-day HR support and play a key role in shaping workforce strategy, leadership capability, organisational effectiveness, talent planning, industrial relations and business transformation.
• Based in Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements, this role will require regular travel to Sydney and other operational sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• The role encompasses both strategic partnering and hands-on delivery across a broad people agenda, including:
• Developing and delivering HR strategy and strategic workforce plans aligned to business priorities and future growth.
• Partnering with leaders on organisation design, organisational effectiveness and change, ensuring the organisation is structured and equipped to deliver its objectives.
• Leading workforce strategies for critical skills, succession and capability, building the talent foundations required for continued growth.
• Strengthening leadership capability, coaching leaders from senior management through to frontline leadership to build stronger commercial and people leadership capability.
• Developing and executing a proactive IR and ER strategy, including supporting upcoming negotiations and strengthening leadership capability across industrial relations.
• Providing trusted advice and coaching on complex performance, employee relations and organisational matters.
• Partnering across Projects and Service to support effective workforce mobilisation and transition, particularly through project commissioning and handover.
• Using workforce data, reporting and insight to identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities and translate these into meaningful business action.
• Supporting the development of capability, career and remuneration frameworks that enable the business to scale in a structured and sustainable way.
• Working collaboratively with Centres of Excellence and the broader ANZ HR team to deliver integrated people solutions.

Requirements

• Significant HR Business Partner experience, ideally at Senior HRBP level, with approximately 10–20 years' HR experience
• Experience in a complex operational environment, ideally across engineering, electrical, manufacturing, industrial services, trades, construction, logistics or a similar sector
• Strong IR and ER capability, including experience developing strategy and supporting or co-leading negotiations
• A proven ability to coach, influence and challenge leaders, building their capability rather than creating dependency on HR
• The ability to assess complex situations, develop scenarios and options, and build compelling business cases for change
• Strong judgement, resilience and the confidence to provide an alternative perspective when it is in the best interests of the business and its people
• In your approach you will be equally comfortable working with senior executives on workforce strategy, coaching a frontline leader through a performance challenge or working through the detail of an IR matter. Most importantly, you understand that being a trusted HR Partner means bringing sound judgement, commercial perspective and constructive challenge to help leaders make better decisions.
