Job description

• Management Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional project teams to coordinate and successfully deliver projects and initiatives. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, schedule and resource management, budget and performance monitoring, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution, and implementation of sound project management practices throughout the project life cycle. The role may support small to mid-sized projects as well as complex, multi-phase initiatives and is expected to maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, quality, and measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope and quality, managing budgets and performance against client and business objectives.
• Plan and manage scope, deliverables, schedules (including resource-loaded schedules), resources, risks, dependencies, and milestones from startup through closeout; flag deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Track project health, deadlines, and resource needs; analyze performance data and prepare status reports, presentations, analyses, and other client deliverables.
• Identify issues, risks, and obstacles early, and lead their resolution across functional teams with practical, well-reasoned recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and team members; lead project meetings and keep stakeholders aligned on priorities, decisions, and updates.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, finance, human resources, and contracts; provide day-to-day direction to assigned team members, working both independently and as a team lead.
• Apply sound project management practices, tools, and templates, and ensure project activities follow company processes for finance, contracts, quality assurance, and human resources.
• Identify growth opportunities with current and prospective clients and communicate them to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in business or engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including project management, project coordination, or an advanced management role.
• Demonstrated execution of project management principles and practices, including planning, resource allocation, stakeholder communication, team coordination, and performance monitoring.
• Experience managing multiple time-sensitive priorities and assignments without diminished effectiveness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, client-management, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and common business productivity tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and presentation software.
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and in a team-lead capacity.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• Active TS or DOE Q security clearance.
• Depending on the client engagement and complexity of the assignment, stronger candidates may also bring one or more of the following:
• 10+ years of project management or directly related experience for senior or highly complex assignments.
• Master's degree, from an accredited program in business or engineering.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience working with the U.S. Department of Energy, other government clients, or in a federal environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Intermediate Excel capability.
• Experience managing complex, multi-phase projects or coordinating cross-project/program initiatives.
• Ability to engage confidently in strategic conversations with senior clients and internal stakeholders, using project management as a core competency.
• High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, self-direction, and a service-oriented approach.
