Medical Assistant (MA)- Dermatology- Part Time (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) at Ohio State University Physicians in US-OH-Columbus

Job description

• We are seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support both front office and clinical operations in our outpatient Dermatology clinic. This position is scheduled to work 20 hours a week, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and will assist with patient registration, scheduling, rooming patients, and other medical assistant responsibilities to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
• Wednesdays 1pm-5pm
• Thursdays 8am-4:30pm
• Fridays 8am-4:30pm

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant roles a ssist with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol . Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
• Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:
• • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
• • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
• • Military Medic training OR
• • EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
• • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
• • Medical Assistant Certification
