- This position is responsible for performing all duties related to the efficient, safe, and compliant collection of blood, blood products and urine. Provides services to neonate through geriatric populations. Works collaboratively as a member of the team and in alignment with the values of St. John’s Health.
Responsibilities
- 1. Draws blood for specimen testing. Specimen collection to include neonate to geriatric populations, legal specimen collection and DOT collections.
- 3. Performs urine drug screen collections.
- 4. Assists in secretarial functions (phone, report distribution, maintaining complete and accurate records).
- 5. Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
Requirements
- Minimum Education
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a phlebotomist required within an acceptable allotted time frame.
- Preferred: Certification as phlebotomist.
- Minimum Work Experience
- Required: Good interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Preferred:1 year phlebotomy experience.
- Required Licenses: BLS required within 30 days of hire.
