Job description
- Angie's Angels Child Development is seeking a full-time Lead Childcare Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced childcare professional or early childhood educator who enjoys leading a classroom, creating engaging learning experiences, and building strong relationships with children and families.
- We are hiring for Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K classrooms. Classroom placement is based on experience, interests, and current center needs.
- Typical schedule: Most positions follow a consistent daytime schedule (for example, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) within center hours of 5:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
- This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with young children, values relationships and play-based learning, and wants a stable role in early childhood education. Depending on classroom placement, you may work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or Pre-K children.
Responsibilities
- As a Lead Teacher, you will take primary responsibility for creating a safe, structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom while working collaboratively with other team members.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans
- Create engaging learning experiences that support early literacy, math, social-emotional development, curiosity, and age-appropriate growth
- Maintain a safe, structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Observe, assess, and document children’s growth and development
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s needs, progress, and classroom experiences
- Maintain required classroom records, including attendance, lesson plans, and daily reports
- Follow state licensing requirements and center policies
- Support program quality standards and collaborate with team members
- Coordinate age-appropriate classroom activities, special events, and field trips when applicable
Requirements
- Required
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to complete required trainings, including CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention
- Preferred - not required
- Previous experience in a childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood setting
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or other early childhood credential
- Experience with infants, toddlers, preschool, and/or Pre-K children
- Familiarity with early learning standards and Kindergarten readiness
- Strong organizational and communication skills
