• RRC is seeking a talented ​Electrical Engineer III - Power System Study​ to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Denver, CO offices in the US, or Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB offices in Canada. Remote work is also available. RRC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. Responsibilities

• Perform wind and solar electrical interconnection studies at development, construction, and operation stages, including system planning models, system impact studies, stability, voltage ride through, frequency response, FERC/NERC compliance studies.
• Model and study wind, solar & energy storage plant interconnection and compliance
• Perform wind and solar electrical engineering studies at both the development stage and construction stage.
• Model projects using ETAP, ASPEN, CYMCAP, SKM,
• Prepare technical reports, study documentation, and client deliverables
• Interconnection experience and understanding in the various ISOs is a requirement.
• Specify equipment ratings and project design parameters based on studies
• Take ownership of deliverables to meet and exceed client expectations
• Manage multiple studies and multiple projects at a time
• Perform QA/QC of study packages

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Master's Degree in Engineering with renewable energy focus a plus
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S. or P.Eng. in Canada (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• 5+ years of experience in power system analysis, simulations and studies in the utility or consulting field.
• Strong understanding of utility interconnection requirements, NERC reliability standards, and regional transmission organization (RTO/ISO) procedures.
• Proficiency in power system study software
• Ability to interpret and apply IEEE, IEC, and other applicable standards.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
