• Angell Animal Medical Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and collaborative Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide clinical leadership across multiple specialty veterinary services.

• The Chief Medical Officer serves as a key clinical and leadership resource for the hospital. Working closely with Service Directors, hospital leadership, clinicians, and support teams, the CMO will help ensure high-quality medical care, excellent client service, strong interdepartmental collaboration, and a positive culture throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership across 3–4 specialty services.
• Serve as a trusted medical and surgical resource for clinicians and hospital teams.
• Promote collaboration and consistency across specialty services.
• Provide leadership and decision-making support during complex cases and crisis situations.
• Address and resolve client concerns related to medical care with professionalism, compassion, and sound judgment.
• Support patient safety, quality assurance, and consistent standards of medical and surgical care.
• Lead, mentor, and develop veterinary professionals and support staff.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of specialists, interns, residents, and other veterinary team members.
• Help ensure veterinary training and continuing education programs meet professional and licensing standards.
• Work closely with Service Directors and hospital leadership on staffing, scheduling, performance management, and operational needs.
• Participate in hospital committees, leadership meetings, and long-term planning.
• Develop and oversee departmental budgets and promote responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
• Help develop and maintain effective policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.Model and promote Angell's values of Compassion, Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence, Service, and Positivity.

Requirements

• DVM or VMD degree.
• Completion of an internship.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of veterinary experience following completion of training.
• Progressive professional responsibility and previous supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience working in a specialty veterinary or complex hospital environment.
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to assess complex situations, develop solutions, and make sound decisions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and veterinary hospital information systems.

Benefits

• Base Salary- 220k-240k
