• A Senior Corporate Counsel at Indeed possesses expert knowledge, pattern recognition, and thought leadership skills. This role involves handling novel, difficult, and high-risk issues, even when faced with unclear or ambiguous facts, seeking guidance from leadership when necessary. A Senior Corporate Counsel effectively conveys advanced information, persuades diverse audiences, and develops trusting partnerships with key clients. They are accountable for results, ensuring properly calibrated escalation, and coach and mentor junior team members while educating the broader Legal team on legal concepts within their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic legal advice and practical solutions to business partners on privacy governance, risk management, operations, and compliance programs.
• Reviews products, services, and initiatives for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Acts as subject matter expert in European, UK, and global privacy and data protection law.
• Shares information, identifies training gaps, and educates key business partners and the Legal team on important legal concepts and best practices. Develops and delivers training content in consultation with manager.
• Anticipates and resolves difficult issues in conversations with partners and/or legal negotiations.
• Develops strategic relationships with key business partners, and is seen as a trusted advisor to business for specialty area.
• Provides solutions-focused advice for dealing with legal issues by thinking creatively, adapting to changes in the business and the law, and with a business perspective in mind.
• Effectively engages and manages outside counsel while controlling costs.
• Uses knowledge and experience to mentor junior members of the team.

Requirements

• Qualified to practice in Ireland or an equivalent common law jurisdiction and a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
• Deep understanding of major global data protection laws and regulations and practical experience advising clients with global business models.
• Ability to translate legal concepts into clear, practical guidance.
• Ability to balance legal risk with practical business considerations.
• Effective project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships across teams.
• Sound judgment and attention to detail.

• The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, and experience. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
