Financial Accountant at Covetrus in Brisbane, Queensland (AU)

Job description

• Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join either our Sydney (Erskine Park) office on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager (Brisbane based), you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support our wholesale distribution and software businesses across Australia & New Zealand. Responsibilities

• End of month preparation including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Providing variance analysis and other supplementary reporting to management and as required for US reporting purposes.
• Day to Day financial management of our software business and supporting the software team on financial matters.
• Ownership of processes and P&L accounts associated with fixed assets and operating leases.
• Responsibility for loading financial information into the US reporting system.
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements and liaising with external auditors as required.
• Budget preparation and forecasting.
• Assisting with compliance with global internal control framework.
• Assisting with various projects and business improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Ideally you will display –
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications (or working towards).
• Demonstrated three years experience within a large, commercial environment and accounting team.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel.
• Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way.
• A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on seeking out continuous improvement opportunities.
