• Confidential FinTech Company is seeking a mid-to-senior-level UiPath Developer / Business Process Analyst to join its Intelligent Automation team. This is a hybrid technical and business-facing position designed for someone who can personally take an automation opportunity from initial process discovery through solution design, hands-on UiPath development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production enhancement.
• The role is approximately 60% hands-on UiPath development and 40% business and process analysis. UiPath expertise is the most important technical requirement. The successful candidate must be capable of personally building production-quality automations while also communicating effectively with business stakeholders, facilitating process discovery, understanding operating requirements, and translating those requirements into practical automation solutions.
• This individual will work on both new automation development and enhancement of existing automations. Current initiatives include internal processes associated with areas such as name changes and fund changes within Confidential FinTech Company’s alternative-investment environment.
• The technology environment centers heavily on UiPath Studio and Orchestrator, with significant use of intelligent automation capabilities including Document Understanding and Action Center. Automations may interact with SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SQL databases, APIs, Excel, AWS services, and other enterprise technologies.
• This role is intended for someone who can bridge the gap between “What does the business need?” and “How do we actually build it in UiPath?” without requiring separate resources to manage every step of the automation lifecycle.
• Purpose: Build automation that improves how work gets done within a rapidly growing financial technology organization supporting the alternative-investment ecosystem. Your solutions will eliminate or streamline manual processes and enable business teams to operate more efficiently while supporting the continued growth of the organization.
• Expand beyond traditional RPA development by working across the complete intelligent automation lifecycle: stakeholder discovery, business analysis, process design, UiPath development, intelligent document processing, AI-assisted workflows, enterprise integration, testing, deployment, and production optimization. You will work alongside an established automation team while gaining exposure to complex financial-services processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

• 1. Rapidly Assume Ownership of UiPath Development and Deliver Production Automation. Within the first 90 days, develop a working understanding of Confidential FinTech Company 's UiPath environment, development standards, existing automations, business processes, and delivery practices and begin independently contributing production-quality automation. Use UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, REFramework where appropriate, and established exception-handling practices to develop and enhance attended and unattended solutions. Work across applicable technologies including SQL, APIs, Excel, SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and other enterprise systems required by assigned processes. Success will be measured by the quality and reliability of delivered automations, adherence to team standards, timely completion of assigned development, and increasing ability to operate independently within the environment.
• 2. Lead Business Process Discovery and Translate Requirements into Automation Solutions. Throughout the first six months, work directly with business stakeholders to understand existing processes, identify automation opportunities, facilitate discovery workshops, document AS-IS and TO-BE workflows, and translate business needs into clear automation requirements and solution designs. Develop Process Definition Documents and applicable Solution Design Documents that capture process steps, business rules, exceptions, systems, data, and expected automation behavior. Participate in feasibility and ROI analysis where appropriate, while recognizing that final ownership of ROI calculation may depend on the engagement and team process. Success will be measured by stakeholder acceptance of requirements, reduced requirement ambiguity during development, quality of process documentation, and conversion of viable opportunities into executable automation initiatives.
• 3. Deliver Intelligent Automations Using UiPath's Advanced Capabilities. During the first 6–12 months, identify and implement opportunities to move beyond basic deterministic RPA by using appropriate UiPath capabilities such as Document Understanding, Action Center, and other AI/ML-enabled functionality. Design solutions that combine automation with human decision-making where full automation is inappropriate, using a human-in-the-loop approach where business judgment, exceptions, or validation are required. Evaluate each use case based on business value, reliability, security, maintainability, and operating risk rather than adopting AI solely because the technology is available. Success will be measured by production deployment of appropriate intelligent automation capabilities, measurable operational improvement, reliable exception handling, and stakeholder adoption.
• Subtasks
• 1. Learn the Environment and Existing Automation Portfolio. During the first 30 days, develop a detailed understanding of Confidential FinTech Company 's Intelligent Automation environment, UiPath architecture, Orchestrator configuration, development standards, existing bots, current projects, enterprise integrations, and business stakeholders. Review representative automations and supporting documentation to understand how the team designs, develops, deploys, monitors, and supports solutions. Establish effective working relationships with internal team members, including offshore resources, and identify immediate opportunities to contribute to active development or enhancement work. Success will be measured by the ability to independently navigate the automation environment and begin contributing meaningful technical work within the initial ramp-up period.
• 2. Conduct Process Discovery and Define Automation Requirements. Beginning within the first 30–60 days, engage directly with business stakeholders to understand assigned processes and identify automation opportunities. Facilitate discovery sessions, map AS-IS workflows, identify decision points and exceptions, develop appropriate TO-BE processes, and document requirements through PDDs and related artifacts. Apply BPMN, swimlane diagrams, value-stream mapping, process mining, or other appropriate techniques based on the complexity of the process. Success will be measured by clear requirements, stakeholder alignment, identification of viable automation opportunities, and fewer development problems caused by incomplete process understanding.
• 3. Design the Automation Solution. For approved opportunities, translate business requirements into a maintainable UiPath solution design that addresses workflow structure, exception handling, logging, credentials, scheduling, integrations, data requirements, and supportability. Determine how the automation should interact with SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SQL databases, APIs, Excel, AWS services, and other applicable systems. Evaluate whether standard RPA, Document Understanding, Action Center, API integration, or another UiPath capability provides the most appropriate implementation approach. Success will be measured by technically sound designs, alignment with CoE standards, and reduced rework during development.
• 4. Build Production-Quality UiPath Automations. Throughout the engagement, spend approximately 60% of the role personally developing and enhancing automation using UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and applicable UiPath capabilities. Apply REFramework and appropriate exception-handling practices where suitable, and use complementary technologies such as SQL, APIs, Python, C#, or VB.NET when required by the solution. Participate in source control and code review processes using applicable tools such as Git and collaborate with team members to maintain development quality. Success will be measured by code quality, successful execution, maintainability, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of automation commitments.
• 5. Test, Deploy, and Stabilize Automations. For each automation developed or enhanced, conduct appropriate unit testing, support UAT, investigate defects, and drive issues through resolution and retesting before production deployment. Validate both expected business flows and exception scenarios rather than testing only ideal conditions. Deploy approved solutions through UiPath Orchestrator and established change-management processes and monitor initial production performance closely enough to identify unexpected process or system behavior. Success will be measured by successful UAT, controlled deployments, timely defect resolution, and stable production execution.
• 6. Enhance Existing Automations and Support Team Scale. Throughout the first year, maintain and enhance the existing automation portfolio as business requirements, applications, and processes change. Investigate production failures to root cause, implement durable fixes, maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and identify reusable components or practices that can benefit other developers. Participate actively in code reviews and knowledge sharing so the Intelligent Automation team can maintain quality as additional UiPath developers are hired. Success will be measured by improved automation reliability, effective enhancements, reduced recurring failures, useful documentation, and successful knowledge sharing across onshore and offshore resources.

Requirements

• The most important requirement is strong, hands-on UiPath development expertise. This should be verified through specific examples of automations the candidate personally designed, developed, tested, deployed, and supported rather than by relying solely on years of experience or UiPath appearing on the résumé.
• The target is a mid-to-senior-level professional who can operate across both technical development and business analysis. The client discussion indicated approximately 6–10 years of relevant overall experience as a general target, but demonstrated depth and accomplishments should be weighed more heavily than an arbitrary number of years.
• The candidate should demonstrate strong hands-on experience with UiPath Studio and Orchestrator, including building production automations, exception handling, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement. Experience with Document Understanding and Action Center is particularly relevant because these capabilities are actively used by the team.
• The individual must also be comfortable spending approximately 40% of the role interacting with the business. This includes facilitating discovery sessions, asking effective process questions, creating PDDs and solution documentation, communicating with non-technical stakeholders, and translating business requirements into technical automation solutions.
• Complementary technical capabilities include Python, C#, VB.NET, SQL, REST APIs, Docker, AWS, Microsoft Power Platform, Git, and related integration technologies. UiPath remains the core technical priority; the supporting technologies should be evaluated based on the depth required for the specific automation environment.
• Experience automating or integrating with SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow is particularly relevant.
• The strongest candidate is not simply a UiPath coder and not simply a business analyst. The ideal individual can sit with a business stakeholder and discover how a process actually works, identify automation opportunities and exceptions, document the requirements, return to the development environment, personally build the automation, test it, deploy it, and support it in production.
• During the interview, the candidate should be able to take the team through a specific automation they personally delivered and clearly explain the original business problem, process discovery, AS-IS and TO-BE design, UiPath architecture, components they personally coded, exception handling, integrations, testing, deployment, production issues encountered, and measurable business result.
• Candidates should also be able to discuss practical use of UiPath Document Understanding and Action Center, including situations where a human-in-the-loop design was more appropriate than attempting complete automation.
• Strong communication is essential because this role acts as a bridge between the development team and business stakeholders.
