Job description

• As a Principal Product Definition Engineer in the Cytric organization, you will play a critical role in shaping product capabilities by converting business needs into clear, complete, and actionable specifications for global feature teams. Working closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and user experience specialists, you’ll guide teams through the entire lifecycle—from requirements discovery to release validation—while ensuring collaboration and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and clarify business requirements, ensuring mutual understanding before development starts.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive functional documentation, including solution descriptions and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions, share knowledge, and support functional onboarding of team members.
• Design and review APIs, working with governance boards for approvals and validation.
• Partner with quality assurance teams to review test strategies, scenarios, and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Assist in release validation and lead solution discussions across teams and stakeholders.
• Contribute to planning activities by identifying potential risks early and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Support knowledge sharing around domain insights and solution design principles.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in business analysis or similar roles in software product development (typically 12+ years).
• Background in travel domain or related industries is beneficial; familiarity with airline workflows and provider integration is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work effectively with global teams.
• Experience collaborating in agile environments (SAFe or similar frameworks is a plus).
• Ability to interpret logs, analyze customer behaviors, and propose functional solutions.
• Comfort with API concepts and willingness to learn governance processes.
• Awareness of emerging technologies and interest in applying AI tools for process improvement.
• Experience with high-impact, customer-facing products is an advantage.
