Job description

• The Procurement Specialist will support development and growth of the supply base supporting Copeland's next generation of strategic platforms. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain experience working across sourcing, engineering, operations, and supplier quality teams to help ensure suppliers are prepared to support new product launches and business growth initiatives.
• The successful candidate will assist with supplier readiness activities, support new product introduction (NPI) programs, and contribute to building a reliable supply base that supports strategic business objectives. This position offers exposure to procurement, supplier development, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration while developing foundational supply chain and sourcing expertise.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Readiness & Program Support
• Support supplier onboarding and readiness activities for new platforms, ensuring readiness across quality, capacity, cost, and delivery.
• Assist in maintaining sourcing-related program timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation plans.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to understand technical requirements and supplier capabilities.
• Participate in cross-functional program meetings and follow up on assigned actions to support successful program execution.
• Supply Base Development
• Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers that align with business and technology needs.
• Support supplier capability assessments and readiness reviews.
• Help gather and analyze supplier information related to capacity, performance, and capabilities.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Commodity Management, and Advanced Manufacturing teams on supplier improvement initiatives.
• Strategic Sourcing Support
• Support sourcing activities for new programs, including supplier research, supplier selection processes, and data analysis.
• Assist in developing and maintaining supplier databases and sourcing documentation.
• Participate in cost analysis and supplier engagement activities during product development.
• Support commodity teams in executing sourcing strategies and procurement initiatives.
• Risk Management & Reporting
• Help identify potential supplier risks and support mitigation planning activities.
• Maintain supplier and program tracking tools, reports, and readiness metrics.
• Assist with preparation of status updates and presentations for project teams.
• Support compliance with corporate procurement policies and supplier requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, project coordination, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business applications.
• Eagerness to learn procurement, supplier development, and program management processes.
• Ability to travel up to 15%, depending on business needs.
• Internship or co-op experience in supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Exposure to project management tools or ERP systems.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain concepts.
• Interest in supplier development, sourcing, and new product introduction activities.
