Product Sales Manager, Fall Protection at PIP Global Safety in Detroit, MI

Job description

• The Product Sales Manager (PSM) for Miller Fall Protection is responsible for driving sales growth, technical support, and customer engagement for the Miller Fall Protection product portfolio within an assigned territory. In addition to sales, this role will also provide internal and external Miller Fall Protection product training. This role works closely with distributors, end users, strategic accounts, national accounts and internal sales teams to identify opportunities, conduct site evaluations, develop fall protection solutions, and provide training focused on OSHA and ANSI compliance. The Fall PSM will work with and support the Miller Fall Protection Product Manager Team. This includes working on the development and launching of new Miller Fall Protection products.
• The PSM serves as the subject matter expert for safety-at-height applications, including personal fall arrest systems, ladder safety systems, horizontal lifelines, confined space equipment, rescue solutions, and engineered fall protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for the Miller Fall Protection product portfolio, providing technical expertise, application support, and field guidance to sales teams, distributor partners, safety professionals, and end users.
• Drive sales growth by supporting territory and strategic/national account initiatives through customer site visits, fall hazard assessments, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling.
• Deliver comprehensive fall protection training for internal sales teams, distributors, contractors, and end users on regulatory compliance, product selection, inspection, and proper system use.
• Partner with TSM’s, CSM’s and distributor sales teams to identify opportunities, develop specifications, and convert competitive fall protection business to Miller solutions.
• Support the launch of new Miller products and systems by communicating key features, application benefits, compliance advantages, and competitive differentiators.
• Maintain expert knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices related to fall protection, confined space, rescue, and working-at-height applications.
• Monitor competitive activity, product trends, and market developments within the fall protection industry, providing actionable insights to Sales, Marketing, and Product Management.
• Gather field intelligence related to customer requirements, regulatory changes, product performance, and unmet market needs to support future product development and portfolio enhancements.
• Analyze regional sales performance, adoption trends, and market opportunities to support forecasting, strategic planning, and growth initiatives for the Miller business.
• Represent PIP and the Miller brand at industry trade shows, safety conferences, distributor events, and customer training seminars as the recognized fall protection expert.
• Maintain accurate customer activity, opportunity tracking, and pipeline management through CRM tools while ensuring adherence to company policies and sales processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; technical or equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in sales, product support, or training, ideally within industrial distribution or PPE/safety products.
• Strong presentation, communication, and training skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Ability to travel up to 50–60% to support field training, customer visits, and events.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and virtual training platforms.
