• CRST has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Talent Program within our summer internship program as an Operations Intern within our Flatbed Division based in Birmingham, Alabama.
• The Operations Intern will gain practical experience with CRST’s processes and transportation management practices, while helping improve the use of company assets and equipment. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with different departments and build valuable skills for a future career in business or management.

Responsibilities

• Operational Knowledge - Gain hands-on experience with CRST’s processes and day-to-day operations
• Transportation Management Practices - Learn and apply basic transportation management practices to support business functions
• Asset and Equipment Utilization - Assist in improving the efficiency of company assets and equipment
• Cross-Department Collaboration - Work with various departments and develop effective communication skills
• Work Ethic and Loyalty - Show a strong work ethic, loyalty, and commitment to success in all tasks
• Career Aspirations - Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in business or management
• Multi-tasking and Problem-Solving - Handle multiple tasks and solve problems effectively in a fast-paced environment

• As a member of the Operations team in this division, you could have the opportunity to work in a variety of different teams supporting customers.
• Account Management: This group will manage and grow a portfolio of clients by working with our Sales team to identify network needs. They will also work to solve client’s complex logistics challenges.
• Operations: Work with independent business owners to ensure revenue growth through advisement regarding current industry trends and forecasts
• Pricing: Use real time data to provide instant feedback to the Account Management team so we always stay competitive in the market and have a high success rate on awarded business.

Requirements

• Pursuing a business-related 4-year bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Sophomore - Junior-level college student pursuing a degree within Business, Management, Marketing, Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance or a similar field
• Minimum 2.5 or above GPA
• Exhibit a strong work ethic and loyalty
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Has strong aspirations for future success in business or management
• Self-starter with high personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownership
• Prior coursework, internship, or work experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to multi-task and problem-solve effectively.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Basic oral and written communication skills
• Maximizes relationships, fosters collaboration, and builds trust
