Job description

• Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and verify software for the flight deck displays and crew alerting systems for Boeing commercial aircraft.
• Work with team and the customer to ensure the software meets customer expectations and certification requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peer engineers.
• Decompose and write software requirements/specifications.
• Design and modify software design and architecture, including design models.
• Write C, C-H- and Python code and integrate in a lab environment.
• Write, execute and analyze software verification cases and procedures.
• Perform software analyses including structural coverage analysis, static analysis, link analysis, and memory/timing usage analysis.
• Prepare and review software documents for aircraft certification.
• Perform all of the above tasks according to the RTCA DO-178B or DO-178C specifications.

Requirements

• Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role. In the alternative, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with programming in C/C++.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with DO-178B/C Level A software development and verification.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with software development and integration on embedded systems with a real-time operating system.
• Must possess at least 2 years of experience with model-based software development.
• Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

• The salary range is $135,803.00 to $165,200.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

• Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
