Sr. Financial Analyst - Marketing Consumer Finance at General Mills in Minneapolis, MN

• The Agency is transforming General Mills marketing capabilities for the future, and this Senior Financial Analyst role offers an opportunity to grow as a finance partner at the intersection of our media, content production, and creative agency investments. You will build trusted partnerships across Consumer Finance, Business Affairs, Media Operations, and business operating units —bringing clarity to complex decisions, connecting teams to shared outcomes, and influencing through thoughtful, data-driven communication.
• In this role, you will own operational finance across planning, forecasting, reporting, financial controls, and process governance. You will translate financial data into actionable insights, strengthen media and production finance routines, and help ensure that marketing investments are accurately planned, tracked, reconciled, and managed with strong financial discipline.
• This role provides meaningful developmental opportunities through ownership of high-visibility processes, exposure to agency and production economics, and partnership with leaders across the business. You will deepen your understanding of marketing finance while building skills in process leadership, strategic problem-solving, and communicating risks and opportunities. Responsibilities

• Media Reporting, Planning & Analysis
• Manage the Demand Generation Review flex input process, including coordination of monthly inputs, National Media flex reporting, commentary, and operating-unit handoffs.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and financial support for media-related questions, planning opportunities, and business reviews.
• Continually improve the management of media and advertising expense by strengthening reporting, analytical capabilities, and process effectiveness.
• Partner with broader Consumer Finance to establish and transform new decision forums and ways of working for The Agency.
• Production & Agency Fee Finance
• Serve as a finance partner to Media Operations on budget, timing, scope, and financial questions.
• Establish and maintain production finance processes that support accurate job setup, tracking, reconciliation, and payment.
• Partner with Business Affairs to set up and maintain purchase orders and spend allocations for agency fees and related media, production, talent, and traffic activity.
• Review, reconcile, and approve agency-related purchase orders and invoices, ensuring alignment to approved budgets and appropriate financial controls.
• Financial Controls & Governance
• Manage the Media credit process, including monthly coordination, reporting, and communication of expected cashback from National Media spend.
• Provide financial support for the Studio G partnership, including billing review, tracking, and coordination with Marketing Operations partners.
• Provide finance leadership during quarterly budget discussions, ensuring appropriate spend lever classification, adherence to authorized spend levels, and financials that reflect accurate spend expectations
• Lead year-end accrual and prepaid activities for Media, Production, Talent/Traffic, and Agency Fees, applying accounting guidance to ensure expense is recognized in the appropriate period.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
• 2 or more years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated bias for action and remain agile as situations evolve
• Able to establish processes, make process improvements and effectively organize and coordinate own work
• Able to identify and extract the right data from financial systems to provide meaningful analysis and insights.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, Tableau dashboards
• Effective verbal & written communication skills
• Project management skills – ability to proactively manage deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and escalate potential issues
• Large, matrixed organization experience
