• Description
• This position will report to the Chief Patient Experience Officer and the Store Manager. The Patient Experience Department is seeking a versatile, energetic, detail–oriented Marketing & Retail Sales Associate. This unique, hybrid role splits time between supporting the Patient Experience Department and driving daily operations for the Hospital Gift Shop.
• The ideal candidate bridges creative marketing and digital media skills with a friendly, customer-focused retail mindset to advance the hospital's mission and enhance community engagement.

Responsibilities

• • Create engaging content for all hospital social media channels, including written posts, photography, and short-form videos.
• • Write, edit, and prepare copies for various marketing materials, including newsletters, social media, website content, and internal communications.
• • Support the hospital's podcast by assisting with topic development, guest scheduling, promotion, and distribution.
• • Perform administrative duties, including preparing correspondence and distributing materials.
• • Capture high-quality photographs and videos at hospital events and for promotional materials.
• • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent brand messaging. Ensure all content aligns with the hospital’s mission, vision, and core values, and strictly comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
• • Assist in planning, setting up, and executing community outreach events.
• • Perform general administrative duties, including preparing professional correspondence and distributing marketing materials.
• • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Patient Experience Officer to support departmental objectives.
• • Manage daily gift shop operations, including handling inventory, restocking shelves, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
• • Maintain proficiency in retail software and safely operate point-of-sales systems for all transactions.
• • Proactively greet and interact with customers the moment they enter the store, and provide an exceptional visitor experience.
• • Review sales reports to strategically promote, cross-sell, and up-sell merchandise.
• • Address customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• • Keep the shop clean, beautifully merchandised, and organized to ensure a positive, welcoming experience.
• • Take on additional retail tasks as assigned by the Store Manager to support the gift shop’s overall success.
• • Collect and Deposit the Cash Sales to Finance Department at the end of each day to ensure a timely deposit.

Requirements

• • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• • A minimum of two (3) years of experience in business, basic advertising, and utilizing social media and digital marketing tools.
• • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a retail or customer service environment.
• • Proven ability to sell products, utilize basic math for transactions, and independently use your initiative on the retail floor.
• • Competent writing, editing, and proofreading skills alongside excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
• • Proven ability to work cooperatively and sensitively with individuals from diverse cultures, ethnic groups, and backgrounds. An understanding of Navajo tribal and cultural values, healthcare needs, and the local community is highly valued.
• • Thorough with strong attention to detail. Possesses the patience and ability to remain calm under pressure, work well with others, and maintain a strict customer-first mindset.
• • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays to support gift shop hours and community events.
• • Must be able to successfully pass the Employee Health Program requirements and background investigation.
• • Advanced knowledge of major social media platforms, including content creation strategies for Reels, short-form video, stories, posts, and digital photography.
• • Solid understanding of foundational marketing principles, promotional tactics, and strategies to enhance both hospital visibility and gift shop engagement.
• • Comprehensive knowledge of retail store operations, including active sales strategies, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service best practices.
• • Comprehensive in our Navajo Language (preferred).
• • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic digital creation applications.
• • Proven ability to work effectively within a team, foster a collaborative environment, and support mutual employee development.
• • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to prioritize tasks, switch gears between departments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
