Job description

• Lantern is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager, Finance & Corporate Strategy to turn ambiguous strategic and financial questions into clear, board-ready recommendations as the company scales across new markets, service lines, and pricing structures. This role helps the CFO organization invest more deliberately in understanding the financial trade-offs behind capital allocation decisions. This is a new role.
• The ideal candidate brings a top-tier management consulting (MBB or equivalent) or corporate strategy background, with a bias toward synthesis and speed over exhaustive analysis. This is high-value, highly visible work — the primary audience for this person's output is the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors, with a direct seat at the table alongside Finance & Corporate Strategy leadership.
• Location: Dallas, TX or New York, NY - Hybrid position - 3x in office per week.

Responsibilities

• Strategic & Financial Analysis
• Lead special-project analyses (e.g., pricing or network economics reviews) that turn ambiguous strategic and financial questions into clear, structured, board-ready recommendations.
• Deliver 4+ such analyses per year, each directly informing a capital allocation or strategic decision.
• Apply advanced Excel modeling and structured problem-solving to translate multi-variable trade-offs into a single recommended path for executives.
• Executive & Board Communication
• Own sections of board and investor materials that require unusual analytical depth, with minimal rework required from the CFO.
• Become a trusted analytical partner to the CFO and executive team, credible with CFO-, CEO-, and Board-level audiences.
• Constructively challenge framing and assumptions in executive discussions.
• Cross-Functional Partnership
• Partner across Finance & Corporate Strategy and with business unit and functional leaders across Commercial, Operations, and Product/Technology on strategic and financial analyses.
• Partner effectively with Enterprise Analytics without duplicative work, maintaining a clean requirements cadence with no major scope misalignments.
• Frameworks & Process
• Build reusable analytical frameworks and templates that raise the analytical bar across Finance & Corporate Strategy.
• Move comfortably across multiple workstreams at once in a high-growth, ambiguous environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA a plus.
• 5-8+ years of experience in top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, and / or corporate finance
• Advanced Excel modeling skills.
• Structured problem-solving and executive communication skills (pyramid principle).
• Moderate working knowledge of Claude or ChatGPT (Claude preferred).
• Familiarity with Databricks, NetSuite, and visualization/automation tools (Lucidchart, Visio, Alteryx, Knime) a plus.
• Healthcare or healthcare technology industry experience a plus.
• Structured Problem-Solving: Consulting-grade communication and a bias toward synthesis and speed over exhaustive analysis ("crayon on a napkin").
• Comfort With Ambiguity: Operates effectively at pace in a high-growth environment.
• Executive Presence: Credible with CFO-, CEO-, and Board-level audiences.
• Constructive Challenger: Pushes back on framing and assumptions (a plus).
• Multi-Workstream Fluency: Comfortable moving across multiple workstreams at once (a plus).

• Compensation: Base salary range: $185,000 - $215,000 + annual bonus (depends on location/level/relevant experience)
