• We are recruiting for a Financial Analyst II to join our team in our Minnetonka, MN location with the Electrophysiology Medical Devices team. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
• The Financial Analyst II is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. They will prepare financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. They will gather and publish financial information related to historical, current and future performance. The Financial Analyst II will perform financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques, or will recommend alternative courses of action.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.
• Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
• Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
• Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. ROI, NPV analysis).
• Evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. evenues, profitability etc).
• Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables.
• Develop and utilize sound financial processes.
• Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.
• May demonstrate basic project management skills by acting as a project lead on small, well defined projects.
• Provides guidance to less experienced staff.
• Influence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management.
• Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.
• Exercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.
• Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays and may result in the allocation of additional resources.
• Works under general supervision.
• Receives limited supervision on standard issues, and detailed instructions on new assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related field
• 3+ years of combined experience in financial planning and analysis
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Demonstrated experience working with financial system applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase and/or SAP
• Ability to work effectively and with flexibility under uncertainty and changing priorities

• The base pay for this position is
• $68,000.00 – $136,000.00
• In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
