Job description

• Donaldson Mobile Solutions is pursuing growth beyond its established product lines, customers and markets. The Product Manager II – Global Adjacent Markets owns the product strategy and roadmap for assigned adjacent market opportunities worldwide — leading the global cross-functional effort that turns opportunities into profitable business.

Responsibilities

• Drive product strategy and adjacent market expansion
• Own and drive the global product roadmap for assigned adjacent market opportunities, identifying gaps, risks and growth openings across segments, applications and geographies.
• Identify, evaluate and prioritize new market, customer and application opportunities through market sizing, whitespace analysis, competitive benchmarking and business case development.
• Translate market signals into prioritized development opportunities, balancing near-term revenue with longer-horizon platform bets.
• Conduct gap analysis against market and competitive requirements — define what must be closed technically, commercially and operationally for an offer to be market-ready.
• Support the business case behind each recommendation: sizing, assumptions, risks, required investment and expected return.
• Lead cross-functional development and lifecycle execution
• Serve as the primary business stakeholder for new product development initiatives, working different areas in the organization to translate market needs into successful offerings.
• Own product lifecycle management for adjacent offers, from concept definition and launch through market maturity and handoff.
• Define and maintain product requirements, specifications, positioning and value proposition, keeping them current as markets, regulations and competition evolve.
• Manage post-launch performance — volume, margin, quality feedback and customer adoption — and drive corrective action, extension or exit decisions.
• Own the handoff of mature products into the responsible business, region or product line, including the development model, documentation and success criteria.
• Accelerate market access and commercial development
• Partner with Business Development, regional OEM sales and Revenue Operations to convert screened opportunities into qualified customer engagements, and to build the sales tools, value propositions and commercialization plans behind them.
• Assess market access barriers, including certifications, homologation, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Equip Business Development and regional sales to sell into unfamiliar space with application positioning, competitive context, pricing logic and technical answers.
• Build market intelligence and customer insight
• Represent the business through customer visits, site assessments, trade shows and industry events, across regions.
• Engage directly with OEM customers, end users and channel partners to detect unmet needs, regulatory shifts and emerging application requirements.
• Track and interpret regulatory and emissions developments affecting filtration and adjacent applications and translate their implications into product direction.
• Translate market and customer requirements for the organization — particularly development engineering — so that technical specifications reflect what customers will pay for.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, product development, applications engineering, business development, technical sales or a comparable role in an industrial, automotive, on-highway or off-highway OEM environment.
• MBA or equivalent commercial training on top of a technical background.
• Experience with filtration, thermal management, powertrain, electrification or adjacent industrial technologies.
• Familiarity with global regulatory, emissions and homologation requirements in mobile equipment markets.
• Experience managing products across the full lifecycle, from launch through maturity and transition.
• Experience introducing new products or technologies into established OEM accounts and taking existing capabilities into markets or regions where the company had no presence.
• Familiarity with stage-gate or equivalent development governance.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity, with incomplete data and a still-forming process.
• Experience working in a global or multi-region role, coordinating teams and customers across geographies.
• Demonstrated ability to build and defend a business case, including financial reasoning and risk assessment.
• Proven cross-functional leadership without direct authority.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills; comfortable with both an engineering audience and an executive audience.

• Annual Salary Range: 101,680 - $127,100. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, and performance. Based on work location, geographic adjustment is included.
