Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and due diligence for acquisition, divestiture, and strategic investment opportunities
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, leveraged buyout (LBO), and merger models
- Perform industry, market, and competitive research to identify acquisition targets and evaluate strategic opportunities
- Analyze financial statements, operating metrics, and business performance to support investment recommendations.
- Prepare investment memoranda, board presentations, executive summaries, and transaction materials
- Coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts with finance, legal, tax, operations, HR, and external advisors
- Support transaction execution, including negotiations, purchase agreements, financing activities, and closing processes
- Monitor market trends, valuation multiples, and industry developments affecting acquisition strategy
- Assist with post-merger integration planning and synergy tracking where applicable
- Develop relationships with investment bankers, consultants, legal counsel, and other external stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, private equity, or M&A consulting
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation methodologies, and financial statement analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience building integrated financial models from scratch
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- MBA, CFA, or progress toward a CFA designation
- Private Equity experience
- Experience supporting middle-market or large-cap M&A transactions
- Familiarity with financial databases such as Capital IQ, PitchBook, FactSet, or Bloomberg
- Experience with data visualization or financial reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
